We were founded in 1904 when Edwin Pounds moved into the present site, which was then a farm. The land covered most of Thorpe Edge area and was used for mixed farming with horse and carriages available for funerals, weddings and taxi hire. As the land was taken away for building purposes the funeral side of the business expanded and motor vehicles replaced horse and carriages.

We are one of the few remaining privately owned and independent family run funeral directors serving Bradford and the surrounding areas.

The business is now in its fourth generation and is run by Simon Broome, great grandson of Edwin Pounds, and is the only purpose built independent funeral home in Bradford. We offer the highest standard of care to the bereaved and their families. Our purpose built chapel was finished in April 2009 and is able to seat 40 people for private funeral services.

We are members of SAIF (The National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors) and will carry out all your requirements from pre need to traditional, environmentally friendly, motorbike hearse and horse and carriage funerals.
